With a Ph.D. and a ravenous curiosity, I like to ask offbeat questions about food, culture, and books. I've written for NPR, Saveur, and the Washington Post. My first book, Eat Feed Autumn Winter, was named one of the Best Books of the year by Epicurious. Wanting to find new ways for scholars to engage the wider world, in 2005 I launched one of the earliest podcasts, Eat Feed, which Saveur called the “finest way to take your food on the road.”
